Members of Tunstall House can access further education opportunities. Staff run courses at the clubhouse, such as food hygiene awareness and personal care. College courses are also held, run by tutors from Wigan and Leigh College. This includes basic computing, confidence building and creative writing, to name a few.
Staff also support members who want to return to college, by helping them explore their options and liaising with tutors and organising support staff, if necessary.
Tunstall House also has links with the council's supported employment service. Members can be referred to this service when they feel ready to return to work or want to get some work experience.
The supported employment service can help people with mental health problems find work and maintain a work placement through on-going support.
