Childrens Disability Data Hub

The Childrens Disability Data Hub replaced the Childrens Disability Register as at August 2011.  The Disability Data Hub holds information on children and young people with a disability and helps Wigan Council to plan for future services and distribute up to date information to families.

The Children Act 1989 requires that every local authority maintains a register of children and young people with disabilities living in its area, in order to help planning for future services and ensuring families receive up to date appropriate information.

Inclusion on the database is voluntary and all personal information is kept confidential.  Names can be deregistered at any time.

To register your child / young person, please complete the attached 'Registration form'.

If you are already registered and your details require changing, please complete the 'Change of Details' section on the Registration form.

Who will have access to my information?

Professionals across Social Care, Health and Education may use the information to assist them to plan and provide services.  This will be on a need to know basis only.
