Consultation

Decisions are made by everyone at Hunter Lodge, not just left up to one individual. From setting up the building initially, right up to the present day, members have been involved and have had their say.

Consultation takes the form of:

  • A steering group – held twice a month on a formal basis, to discuss and organise issues, such as the general maintenance of the building, the annual budget, recruitment and selection of staff and training and development opportunities.
  • Briefing sessions – held each morning to arrange the daily tasks and activities, such as reception duties, domestic tasks, collection of drinks money and the ordering and collection of lunch from the local shops.
  • Small group meetings – such as the publicity group, who produce the monthly newsletters, and are responsible for the update of public information about Hunter Lodge. The Web Development group, who are responsible for the update of the Hunter Lodge Web pages. The horticulture group, who plan the growth for the year and ensure the garden at Hunter Lodge and our allotment at Haigh Hall are maintained .

Clubhouse members are empowered to find themselves making decisions that perhaps they would not normally make. Everyone works together on an equal basis, therefore consultation is paramount.
