Platt Bridge Children's Centre

Sure Start is a government initiative aiming to make life better for children, their families and communities.

Platt Bridge Community First is a 'state of the art' £13 million extended school development, which is home to Platt Bridge Community School and Platt Bridge Childcare which offers full day care, wraparound care, funded sessional care, before and after school clubs and holiday clubs.  In addition there is a Sure Start Children's Centre, a Family Centre, and a children's and adult's public library.

Also, as part of the same site, there is a Primary Care Trust Health facility and a housing office.

The centre is open to the community of Platt Bridge, and offers opportunities for everyone to develop educational skills, access leisure activities, and also attend Sure Start project sessions such as Active Living, Wigan Family Welfare, Families Working Together, Credit Union, and many more.

To arrange a one-to-one chat, or for more information, please call into the centre, or ring Louise Bridge, Centre Development Worker, on the contact details at the bottom of this page.
