The report of the inspection for safeguarding and looked after children in Wigan held in May this year has now been published. Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission have awarded us Good, with three major areas ranked as Outstanding.
Wigan was inspected by Ofsted from 4th May 2012 to 1st June 2012. The inspection had particular focus on how well agencies worked together to safeguard children and young people, and promote the welfare of Looked After Children.
The inspection was a very positive experience and we are very grateful to everyone who contributed to the preparations and those who took part in meetings and focus groups with the Inspectors.
An action plan is now being developed and will be added once finalised.
