Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Wigan Council is aiming to make it as simple as possible for residents to hold street parties to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend with your own street party.  The Diamond Jubilee in 2012 marks 60 years of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Celebrations will be focused on an extended bank holiday weekend in June.

The celebrations will take place from Saturday 2 to Tuesday 5 June 2012.

Normally closing a road incurs quite a cost for a temporary traffic regulation order. We know from the interest in last year’s Royal Wedding that by helping the public and them contacting us in good time, we can manage the legal requirements much better. As long as we know about your plans by 11th May 2012, we can do a formal application for everyone who wants to hold a party between Saturday 2nd and Tuesday 5th June. This means there will be no charge to residents and just one single cost for us to manage.

You can download the street party application form (.pdf, 31.7Kb)  and return the to traffic@wigan.gov.uk or send to Traffic Team, Wigan Council, Wigan Life Centre, Library Street, Wigan, WN1 3DS

Closing date for the applications is 11 May 2012.
