Bin 'do's and don'ts'

  • Do make sure that your bin is placed at the edge of your property (or at your designated collection point) by no later than 7am on your regular collection day.
  • Do return your bin to your property by the end of your collection day.
  • Do put your house number on your bin to help keep it safe
  • Do not put your recycling in plastic bags as these cannot be recycled.
  • Do not overfill your bin. Bins that are over flowing or too heavy will not be emptied. Put extra rubbish in the bin after your bin has been emptied ready for your next collection. You can also check to see if your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre can accept it or you may be able to take it to one of many local recycling points.
