Biodiversity covers the whole range of animals and plant species representing life on earth and the ecosystems of which they are part. Worldwide loss of biodiversity is increasing at an alarming rate, mostly due to human activity. Biodiversity is vitally important to us, not just because it enhances our everyday lives, but also because all life including our own depends upon the stability of natural eco-systems.
