Animal Wardens

The Animal Warden Service has been developed to encourage members of the public to be responsible owners and not to allow their dogs to cause offence to their neighbours and to the public at large.

You may contact the Animal Wardens if your have queries or complaints regarding

  • Stray dogs
  • Dog fouling
  • Patrol of problem areas
  • Displaying of "No Fouling" signs
  • Dangerous dogs

The Animal Wardens offer help and advice on:

  • Lost dogs - a Lost Dog Register helps to re-unite many owners with their dogs.
  • The provision of "poop-scoops" - usually available free from the animal warden service.
  • Other "doggy" matters.

The Animal Warden Service, provided by the Council, can assist with most problems concerning animals, either directly or by putting you in contact with other agencies who may be able to help.

The Animal Wardens are available to talk to school and community groups to educate and raise awareness of responsible ownership.
