Important Information on Chalara fraxinea (Sudden Ash Dieback)
This is affecting Ash trees in various parts of the country. As yet there have been no confirmed cases in Wigan. If you suspect that your Ash trees have Chalara you can contact the Forestry Commission Plant Health department at DEFRA using the links below.

The council has a Woodlands Strategy aimed at protecting and enhancing the borough's wooded areas. Many improvements have been carried out, including tree planting, footpaths and fencing.
