A Personal Search comprises of an inspection of the Local Land Charges Register by members of the public. Please note no member of the Land Charges Section provides any assistance when inspecting the register.
Wigan Council operates a strict appointment for this service. This requires a minimum of 48 hours prior notice for all bookings, cancellations or additions to the existing appointments.
Provisions for appointments are as follows: -
- 3 Appointments ONLY per day – One at 10.00 a.m., one at 2.00 p.m. and the other at 3.00 p.m.
- A maximum of 5 addresses may be searched at each appointment and no more than 4 sets of appointments per week for anyone on Personal Search business.
- Appointments may be booked during normal office hours Monday to Friday on any of the three telephone numbers below.
- Each search of the register costs £11.00
Please note a personal search does not provide all the information given on a full local search application. The Council is under no obligation to answer any supplementary enquiries.
