Consultations on Conservation Area Appraisals

The consultation period has now closed on each of the following Conservation Area Appraisals and they are now awaiting approval.

Consultation on the Park Road, Golborne Conservation Area Appraisal

Park Road Golborne Conservation Area was originally designated on 20 December 1989. The boundary covers an area of 4.03ha and it has been characterised as a Special Residential area. There are currently no listed buildings found within the Conservation Area. Park Road conservation area is entirely residential in nature and is characterised by large detached properties dating from the late 19th century. To the east of the conservation area there are also several vernacular farm buildings; Lawson’s Farm and Town Farmhouse and barn, all of which are grade II listed.

The document below outlines the historical development of the area and provide detailed character analysis of the conservation areas. Aspects such as open spaces, land use, public realm, character and appearance are all examined within the reports and it is all of these factors combined which help to define what makes these areas special. The appraisals also identify possible areas worthy of inclusion in the conservation area.

Golborne Town Centre Conservation Area was originally designated on 20 December 1989. The boundary covers an area of 4.05ha and it has been characterised as a Historic Town Centre. There is currently only one listed building found within the Conservation Area.

This document outlines the historical development of the Golborne area and provides a detailed character analysis of the conservation area. Aspects such as open spaces, land use, public realm, character and appearance are all examined within the reports and it is all of these factors combined which help to define what makes these areas special. The appraisal also identifies possible areas worthy of inclusion in the conservation area.

Consultation on the draft Pennington Conservation Area Appraisal

This document outlines the historical development in Pennington as well as providing a detailed character analysis of the conservation area.  Aspects such as open spaces, land use, public realm, character and appearance are all examined within the report and it is all these factors which help to define what makes the area special.  The appraisal also identified areas worthy of inclusion in the conservation area.
