Volunteering opportunities with the Environmental Education Team

The Environmental Education Team is very keen to offer voluntary places in order to improve the environmental quality of Wigan Borough. You can help us to deliver environmental campaigns across the borough. For example:

  • Putting together campaign materials
  • Helping with publicity
  • Helping to organise community litter picks

Volunteering opportunities with other teams

We also have a variety of teams that we can place you with by arrangement for practical outdoor work including British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, Groundwork and Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

Here are some of the activites you can get involved in:

  • Habitat management
  • Horticultural work such as tree planting, bulb planting and wildflower seed sowing
  • Food growing

More information on this can be found under campaigns.
