The Planning service administers the Community Chest which is a grant fund to help voluntary and community groups purchase equipment, or fund special events, within Wigan borough.
We aim to award up to £1,500 in a simple way. The group must have a set of written rules, their own bank account and Public Liability Insurance.
Here are a few examples of activities already funded:
- Nesting boxes for barn owls
- Computers for a caring group
- Camping equipment for guides
- A memorial stone, heritage plaques
- Sports equipment and crockery
