All local authorities will be receiving additional capital funding to reorganise, rebuild, remodel or refurbish primary schools from 2009 onwards. This funding will be for 15 years and local authorities will spend it according to their local strategic priorities and primary schools vision for the future.
Wigan has been chosen to take part in a pilot programme that brings in an extra £6.5 million from 2008. Full consultations will take part on the primary capital programme as it moves forward.
