Audience: All Chairs and Vice-Chairs of Governing Bodies and Committee Chairs
Course Leaders: Ian Doughty and Sharon Brammeier
This course will develop your knowledge and skills required to be an effective Chair.
The course will comprise of two sessions.
Session 1 - Developing the strategic role of the Governing Body
This session will explore the role you should play as Chair in encouraging the Governing Body to become more strategic
Session 2 - Becoming an Effective Chair
This session will consider the knowledge and skills required to effectively lead the work of the Governing Body
By the end of both sessions you will:
- Be more aware of the contribution governors should make to the strategic leadership of the school
- Understand your role in leading and managing the work of the Governing Body
- Have had the opportunity to develop the skills you need to chair meetings
A buffet will be provided
