Audience: Governors who have been nominated by the Governing Body to undertake the National College of School Leadership (NCSL) on-line training.

Safer Recruitment on-line training has been developed by National College for School Leadership (NCSL) in response to the Bichard Inquiry report following the Soham Inquiry.
This is a facilitated session during which officers from the local authority can support you in completing computer based training and final assessment.
Learning Objectives
- The training will provide valuable information on a safer school culture, and advice and guidance to strengthen safeguards against employing unsuitable people in schools.
- The training will help schools demonstrate that they have effective recruitment and selection processes in place that ensure learners are both well taught and protected
- Prior to attending this course you must register with NCSL. You will be informed of the procedure for doing this with the course confirmation.

It is advisable to register a couple of weeks before the event. Your username and password will be sent to you by e-mail and you must have these with you on the day.
