If you have a child who was born between 1 September 2004 and 31 August 2005 and you want a place at a Wigan primary school, you will need to apply for a primary school place for the 2009/10 school year.
You must register your child’s name at any Wigan authority primary school no later than the beginning of December 2008.
Information about how to apply for a Wigan school place will be sent to you during December 2008. You must complete your application form and return this to the school of your first preference no later than the closing date.
The closing date for applications is 30 January 2009.
It is important parents read the information booklet ‘Admissions to Primary Schools 2009/10’ before making an application. The booklet will be available here from December 2008.
If you want a school place in another local authority you must contact the local authority that maintains the school. Please note other local authorities may have a different application procedures and closing dates.
