Special Education Needs Transport

Transport may be provided to support parents and carers with home to school transport for a child with special educational needs.

The Local Authority (LA) may provide free home to school transport for a child with special educational needs. Eligibility is based on assessment of individual need. This assessment is undertaken by the Access and Inclusion Team and the decision as to whether transport will be provided is made the Wigan Supply and Transport Team within Children and Young People’s Services, Human Resources.
