Special Education Needs Placements in Mainstream School

The local authority seeks to meet special educational needs in local mainstream schools, or at a school or unit which has additional resources to meet particular needs.

If your child has special education needs but no statement:

you should apply for a school place through the school placements team
If we cannot offer your child a place at the school you want, we will offer you the right of appeal

If your child has a Statement of Special Education Needs for mainstream school:

you should apply for a place through the school placements team
if we cannot offer your child a place at you want the Special Education Needs Team will advise you about your right to appeal
