Secondary Enterprise and Work-Related LearningEvery KS4 pupil is entitled to the statutory notional equivalent of five days activity focused on enterprise capability, innovation, creativity, risk management and risk taking, and a can do attitude and the drive to make ideas happen. Financial capability and economic and business understanding will support this.
Wigan Education Business Partnership provides a comprehensive service to support schools in work-related learning and enterprise by offering:
- Support and development of a work-related learning/enterprise framework linked to school development plan
- Advice and guidance on the statutory work-related learning/enterprise framework
- Support in a work-related learning/enterprise audit and development of an action plan, reviews, monitoring and evaluation
- Assistance in delivery of work-related learning/enterprise workshops, curriculum planning and one off enterprise activity days
- Co-ordination of a work-related learning/enterprise network for sharing of good practice and dissemination
- Training of school staff in respect of the work-related learning/enterprise agenda, e.g. a professional development placement into industry for teachers and associated staff, individual departmental support
- Access to work-related learning/enterprise resources and materials
- Support and advice in engaging and maintaining Business Links for the work-related learning/enterprise agenda
- Development, within our Classrooms in Companies, tailored provision to enhance the work-related learning/enterprise agenda
- Organisation of work-related learning/enterprise conferences/training for senior managers and teachers
- Liaison with feeder primary schools to support work-related learning/enterprise initiatives and develop cluster groups based in high schools
