Behaviour Support Team

Primary

Schools can access support by completing a referral form and sending it to the Behaviour Support Team. The support is usually allocated to schools on a half termly basis.

We aim to develop the best possible standards of behaviour and promote successful outcomes for the whole school community.

What we offer

  • Individual pupil support
  • Individual staff support
  • Classroom support
  • Group support packages (Anger Management, Self Esteem, Social Skills, etc.)
  • Whole school support (staff training and advice on such topics as ADHD, Circle Time, Domestic Violence, Anti-Bullying, Positive Handling, etc)
  • Attendance at PSP meetings as a representative of the Local Authority
  • Support for schools wishing to set up or develop a Nurture Group.

Secondary

Schools wishing to access support from the service would purchase an agreed amount of Behaviour Support Team time. This would entitle them to in-school support from a named teacher, for one day a week of support from two teachers for half a day each.

We work in partnership with the whole school community to ensure our support matches the needs of your school. Our primary aim is to develop the best possible standards of behaviour and promote successful learning outcomes for young people. The work that is undertaken within the school varies in accordance with the requirements and requests of the school.

  • Group support packages (Anger Management, Self Esteem, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, etc.)
  • Whole school support (attendance at planning meetings, consultation about staff training requirements)
  • Attendance at PSP meetings as a representative of the Local Authority
  • Support for schools wishing to set up or develop Nurture Groups
  • Twilight staff training sessions on such topics as, ADHD, Bereavement, Separation and Loss, Anti-Bullying, Boxall Profile, Asperger Syndrome etc.

  • Within schools across the borough
  • Providing individual tuition for young people
  • Small group work
  • Supporting school staff with strategies
  • Homework clubs
  • Supporting staff in children’s homes
