Gender

Women, men and transgender people should not be treated unfairly because of their gender, because they are married or because they are raising a family. If people are treated unfairly for any of these reasons, this is sex discrimination. Legislation protects you from sex discrimination at work, in education, as a consumer and in public services.

More information is available at the Equality & Human Rights web site (external link) and Gender Equality Duty (external link).
