Corporate Plan
Our Corporate Plan explains what the council is trying to achieve. It is based on our Vision, Purpose and Values and sets out our priorities for the coming year and how we intend to meet them. The Corporate Plan also shows how we are performing against our high level objectives; People reaching their full Potential, Building Strong Communities and Places People want to live.
Capital Programme
The Capital Programme is produced primarily as an internal working document for elected Members and officers. It identifies agreed capital schemes, showing the total cost of schemes and the projected phasing of those schemes over current and future financial years.
Communication strategy
Our communications strategy helps us to improve the way we communicate with local residents, businesses and partners. It sets out in an action plan the activity we plan to do each year.

One of the main functions of the Council is to act as a regulator and an enforcement agency for a large range of legal duties and powers applied by Acts of Parliament, and the Regulations and Orders made under them (including various bylaws).
This policy sets out the standards and guidance that will be applied by the Council when acting in its role as regulator and enforcement agency across a range of its relevant legal powers and duties.

This sets out the range of standards that council officers and members adhere to.

Data Protection
The Data Protection Act 1998 is designed to ensure that personal data held by the Council is looked after properly. This link describes how we do this and who to contact if you have an enquiry.
FOI
The Freedom of Information Act was passed by the Government in 2000. It gives everyone a right to request information from virtually all public sector organisations. It covers Central Government, Local Councils, the National Health Services, Schools, the Police and the Fire Service, and a large number of other public bodies. Risk Management is an integral part of our business management arrangements. It helps to achieve results on a "right first time" basis by anticipating potential problems and finding ways to avoid or overcome them. It also helps to identify opportunities so that the potential benefits of improved services can actually be achieved.
Our Risk Management Policy sets out how the Council identifies, monitors and manages its opportunities and risks. The policy details the roles and responsibilities of officers and members.
