Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA)
CAA is a new way of assessing local public services in England. It examines how well council are working together with other public bodies to meet the needs of the people they serve. Assessments will be made publically available every year and will provide an annual snapshot of quality of life in the area. The first results will appear on a new OnePlace website which will be launched on Wednesday 9th Decemeber 2009. CAA has replaced the old assessment framework the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA).

Corporate Strategy 2009 - 2012
We normally produce our Corporate Plan every year. But this year we have developed one that covers 3 years so that we can improve our financial and resource management. We have made it easier to read and it includes information about what we spend your money on and how it is distributed. It also includes a statement of our annual accounts. Although we are planning over a 3 year period, we will produce updates on how we are performing against the plan each year. Our plan is focused on how we will deliver services to achieve our 5 main aims.
Departmental Plans
Each department in the council produces a 3 year plan. These plans show how our departments contribute to what the council is trying to achieve. Each Departmental Plan had an action plan that is renewed annually.
Performance National Indicator Set (NI's)
The new national Indicators are the new means of measuring national priorities that have been agreed by governement. The number of national indicators has been set at 185. NI's cover all areas of services delivered by local authorities alone and in partnership with other organisations like health services and the police. The NI set replaces all other existing sets of indicators (Best Value Performance Indicator set). Performance against each of the national indicators will be published annually by the Audit Commission, as part of the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA)
