Wherever you live you will fall into one of the 25 wards covering the whole of Wigan Metropolitan Borough. You have three councillors for your ward, who are able to represent your interests in respect of Council services.
Your councillor can help you with problems or concerns relating to Council services. He or she will be able to tell you who to contact, or can take up your case with the department concerned. Councillors hold regular 'surgeries' at which you can discuss matters in confidence.
But please remember that councillors may be restricted in what they can do, either by financial restraints imposed on the Council, by national legislation or by previously agreed local policies.
