It's a Record!

The dedicated volunteers who bring your favourite magazine to life for blind and partially sighted residents need help.
Making Waves
Volunteers Edith Coleman and Keith Roberts from Making Waves.

Leigh-based Making Waves is a group of 12 people that reads Borough Life articles and records them onto CDs which are sent to people who have asked to receive the magazine in this format.

Now the team needs someone to join them and work alongside their existing recording engineer. The amount of time involved would be no more than half a day every eight weeks.

One reader, Evelyn Latham, said: “My mother receives Borough Life to listen to. The public might not know that this excellent service is offered free for those who are registered blind or partially sighted. In this way people are independently able to keep up with local news.”

If you know of someone who could benefit, ask if they would like their name adding to the list then contact The Editor, Borough Life, FREEPOST NWW3502A, Wigan  WN1 1XZ.  Tel: 01942 827164.  E-mail: Borough Life
