Customer Notice - Free Swimming Important Information
The Universal Free Swimming programme will end on 31st December 2010.
As from Sunday 2nd January 2011 Free Swimming will be available in the school holidays for those aged 16 and under and year round for anyone aged 65+.
If you wish to participate in this offer then you must have a current Lifestyle membership and produce your Lifestyle card on each visit; please see reception for further information.
Charges apply to those aged 5-16 years in term time and at anytime for customers aged 17-64 years.
Instead of sitting in front of the TV or playing computer games for the two-weeks, why not do something else with the kids that’s fun, free and that makes everyone happy?
From 1st April 2009, Wigan Borough launches something for everyone that allows the children to burn off loads of energy, can be enjoyed with friends and is absolutely FREE!
Not only can the kids swim for free, now EVERYONE will be able to swim for free which means that mums and dads can get in on the action too (double the fun)!
Free swimming will be available in any of the five pools situated across the Borough which include:
- Ashton Leisure Centre
- Hindley Pool
- Howe Bridge Sports Centre
- Leigh Indoor Sports Centre
- Tyldesley Pool
There will be a variety of timetabled sessions across the centres for parents and their children as well as sessions where children over the age of eight years can swim unaccompanied (check the website for details of times and availability during the Easter holidays on WLCT - Active Life (external link) or contact your nearest centre for details).
The borough’s pools have loads of activities on offer that you and your children, from babies through to teenagers, will enjoy.
All you have to do to access free swimming is sign-up for your Lifestyle Card. A form is attached overleaf for you to fill in and return to one of the above leisure centres (or you can print off more copies of this form for all of your family members at WLCT - Lifestyle (external link) ).
The cards cost £1.50 each but will give you and your children free swimming for a whole year and discounts on loads of other fun activities across the borough (depending upon your age and status).
