It's important for us that we use the right words in the right way to get our message across clearly. The readers panel did consists of people who are also members of the Citizen's Panel, however these days anyone can volunteer and we are keen to get everyone in the borough involved.
Why do we need a Reader's Panel?
Only you can tell us if we are getting the information right and as a member of the Readers Panel you have the opportunity to say what you think about our publications. We need all of the publications we provide and send out to be;
- Easy to read
- Clear
- Well designed
- Good quality
What will you be asked to look at?
When we send you draft leaflets and documents we like you to consider
- How the information is worded
- How relevant and useful you find that information
- Does it answer all the questions you have
- How the material is presented including (both text and pictures)
Although we ask members to focus on the points above, members are free to comment on any aspect they see that they feel needs to be modified inorder to improve the value of the leaflet / document.
What do we do with your comments?
Once we have received your comments we go through each one and try to incorporate them into the final article- We want to be able to use your comments! Although we value every comment made atb times we are unable to use some suggestions. This usually occurs when the suggestions would significantly alter the content of the leaflet / document so much so that the intended meaning becomes lost.
