91 Objections to the proposed prohibition of waiting Lockett Road / Redgate Road / Bryn Road, Bryn: This application had previously been considered by the Committee (minute 83 refers), but was deferred to allow the Sustainable Travel Officer and the management team from Job Centre Plus to meet and agree a suitable way forward regarding the parking issues in the area.
The actions agreed by the Travel Plan Officer and the management team at Job Centre Plus were tabled at the meeting.
The Travel Plan Officer, Dawn Jones, Area Engineer, Heather Mulliner and Team Leader – Network Management, Danny Orrell along with representatives from the management team - Job Centre Plus attended the meeting at the Committee’s invitation.
This item could only be considered by Members who had attended the site visit and had heard the debate at the meeting of this Committee on 12 February 2010.
The item was considered by Councillors Mrs J Beswick, W Carney, J Eccles-Churton, J Hilton, P Prescott, W Rotherham and W J Wilkes.
Resolved: The Committee agrees to progress the amended prohibition of waiting restrictions as detailed in appendix D of the report.
92 Application for the grant of a licence to drive private hire vehicles: Resolved: The application is deferred until the next meeting of this Committee on 9 April 2010 to allow the applicant to attend.
93 Hackney Carriage vehicle driver - conviction: The Committee considered a report of the Interim Executive Director, Gillian Bishop, presented by the Licensing Officer, Tony Tuffin, which advised Members of a hackney carriage driver licensed by this Authority receiving a Police Caution.
The driver attended the meeting and answered questions.
Resolved: The Committee issues the driver with a warning regarding his future conduct.
94 Application for the grant of a licence to drive private hire vehicles: The Committee considered a report of the Interim Executive Director, presented by the Licensing Officer, which advised Members of an application for a licence to drive private hire vehicles.
The applicant and his representative attended the hearing and answered questions.
