16 Progress report – consultation with Trade Unions and staff communications: The Executive Director of Business Support Services reported on the negotiations which had taken place with the Trade Unions under restricted negotiation procedures, commenting upon the position of the Trade Unions and management and the associated risks. Negotiations were continuing.
The programme leading to the implementation of new terms and conditions was slightly behind the original timescale and the reasons for delays in the service of formal notices were explained.
Details of briefings held with senior officers were given, together with proposals for further communications with staff.
Members noted the report and supported the steps taken by officers.
