Having considered a report that following a notice to tender for the provision of substance misuse services for Wigan Borough considered expressions of interest from suitability qualified organisations to provide a variety of services that in combination would best meet the needs of people with drug and alcohol problems and after consulting the (Executive Leader and/or the Cabinet Champion for Neighbourhoods, I made the following Executive Decision:-
To decide on the award f contract(s) for the provision of substance misuse services in Wigan Borough, procured as a result of formal tender process.
An alternative approach is not award contracts and to remain with the existing provider of service and not to establish the new services as recommended.
Since this is an Executive Key Decision, the decision will come into force, and may then be implemented, on the expiry of five working days after the publication of the decision i.e. 22nd November 2008, unless the Overview and Scrutiny Committee objects to it and calls it in.
