.2 Minutes: The minutes of the meeting of this Select Committee held on 21 August 2008 were approved as a correct record.
.3 Terms of reference: The Chairman agreed to this additional item being taken as urgent, the special circumstance being the need to inform Members at the earliest opportunity.
D Taylor discussed the terms of reference and scope of the Select Committee.
Resolved: The Select Committee accepts the terms of reference and requests that further points be relayed to D Taylor as appropriate.
.4 Leigh Community Hospitals : The Select Committee received a presentation from Mrs K Godsman. Assistant Director Commissioning Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust
The presentation was followed by a question and answer session.
Resolved : The Select Committee thanks Mrs Godsman for the presentation.
.5 New Topic: Scrutiny of the Local Area Agreement (LAA) Health and Wellbeing targets linking to the Health and Wellbeing Partnership work plan: D Taylor briefed the Select Committee on the Health targets within the Local Area Agreement (LAA) and the Health and Wellbeing Partnership

Resolved : The Select Committee:
- agrees with the principle of scrutinising care closer to home; and
- agrees to read the terms of reference and respond to D. Taylor
.6 Consultation Document : D Taylor briefed the Select Committee on the consultation report entitled ‘The Development of a Comprehensive Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services.’
Resolved : The Select Committee requests that responses from officers are sought to inform a summarised consultation response.
