4 Application for a new premises licence, Skyline Booze, Unit 78 Miry Lane Industrial Estate, Wigan: The Licensing Sub-Committee considered a report, which set out details of an application for a new premises licence for which representations had been received. However, the representations had since been agreed and withdrawn.
Resolved: The licence for the establishment is now granted.
5 Application for a premises licence, Wigan Lane Mini Market, Wigan Lane, Wigan: The Licensing Sub-Committee considered an application for a premises licence – Wigan Lane Mini Market, Wigan Lane, Wigan.
The Licensing Officer’s report set out the relevant details.
The applicant and the premises manager attended the hearing and answered questions.
Written representations had been received from a Ward Councillor and 173 interested parties. The Sub-Committee decided that some of the representations had been made by people who did not reside or were not involved in a business within the vicinity of the premises and could not be considered as they were not relevant representations.
Councillor Mrs J M Peet and one of the interested parties answered questions on behalf of the interested parties who had made written representations.
During the hearing the applicant offered the following conditions to be attached to his licence:
- CCTV to be fitted outside the premises within 7 days of the licence being granted; and
- The sale of alcohol Monday-Sunday can only take place between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m.
The Sub-Committee were also informed by the applicant that he may install finger printing ID technology within his premises in the future if he feels that there may be a problem with youths trying to obtain alcohol illegally.
Resolved: The Sub Committee grants the application as amended above.
