12 Minutes: The minutes of the meeting of this Committee held on 3 June 2008 were approved as a correct record.
13 Adjudication panel for England/ethical standards officers’ decisions: There were none.
14 Update on Training and Mediation: The Committee received a verbal report from the Service Director – Borough Solicitor, on the progress the Council had made in relation to developing a scheme of mediation and associated training. In particular, the Council had now obtained cross party support to pursue the development of a training package for mediation. The training package would be designed and delivered by the procured mediators and would be developed with the intention of introducing the scheme in the autumn of 2008.
The Committee’s views were sought as to what should be included within the training package and the most appropriate method of delivery.
Resolved: The Committee endorses the Council’s decision to pursue with the development of mediation training for Members.
