3 Application for a new premises licence – BPM Club, Keats Avenue, Poolstock, Wigan
The Licensing Sub-Committee considered an application for a new premises licence – BPM Club, Keats Avenue, Poolstock, Wigan
The Licensing Officer’s report set out details of the application.
The applicant submitted the application to the Sub-Committee and answered questions. The applicant gave oral evidence in support of the application and disputed some of the names listed on a petition received by the Licensing Department objecting to the application as ‘living in the vicinity’ of the premises.
Three interested parties attended the hearing and answered questions. One written representation and a petition signed by 60 residents had also been received. Subsequently, letters were received from some of the signatories requesting that their names be removed from the petition. Letters had also been received from two people who stated that they had never signed the petition. The three interested parties submitted their case to the Sub-Committee and answered questions.
The Sub-Committee adjourned to confirm which of the objections received via the petition were from residents who lived within the vicinity.
In coming to its decision, the Sub-Committee took account of the Secretary of State's guidance issued under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Council's own licensing policy.
Resolved: The Sub-Committee grants the application as submitted.
