1. Apologies for Absence : Councillors J B Baldwin , M Baines, J F Davies, J Eccles-Churton, G A Fairhurst and A Robinson.
2. Establishment of Licensing Sub-Committees (Gambling): The Committee considered a report which recommended the arrangements for considering applications under the Gambling Act 2005.
Resolved: The Licensing Committee :
- approves the use of the existing three Licensing Sub-Committees to deal with issues under the Gambling Act 2005;
- grants these Sub-Committees delegated power to deal with licence applications received under the provisions of the Gambling Act 2005;
- grants delegated power to the following: Council’s Director of Environmental Services, Licensing Manager, Principal Licensing Officer and Senior Licensing Officer to determine the membership of the Licensing Sub-Committees when dealing with these cases; and
- grants delegated power to the Director of Environmental Services to exercise all powers and duties under the Gambling Act 2005 except in certain specific circumstances as laid out in the report.
