3. Application for a Personal Licence, Stephen Donald Thompson: The Licensing Sub-Committee considered an application for a personal licence for Stephen Donald Thompson.
The Licensing Officer’s report set out details of the application.
The applicant’s representative submitted the application to the Sub-Committee and answered questions. The applicant had submitted written references and a representative of the applicant's employer gave oral evidence in support of the application.
An objection notice had been received from Greater Manchester Police. P C Liptrot attended the hearing and gave oral evidence, stating the reasons why the Police were of the view that the licence should not be granted. He also submitted supporting documentation.
In coming to its decision, the Sub-Committee took account of the Secretary of State's Guidance issued under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Council's own Licensing Policy.
Resolved: The Sub-Committee grants the application.
