A special meeting of the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan is to be held in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan on Wednesday, 29 October 2008 at 7.00 p.m.

This Council records the eminent services rendered to the Council by MRS AUDREY BENNETT a distinguished past Member of the Council. The title of Honorary Alderman of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan is accordingly conferred on MRS AUDREY BENNETT
3 To consider passing the following resolution:-
This Council records the eminent services rendered to the Council by ALFRED ROBINSON a distinguished past Member of the Council. The title of Honorary Alderman of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan is accordingly conferred on ALFRED ROBINSON.
Members are informed that Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972 provides that a resolution to confer the title of Honorary Alderman on a person must be passed by not less than two thirds of the Members voting thereon.
