- Christmas Day (Friday) collections will be done on Sunday 27th December
- News Year’s Day (Friday) collections will be done on Saturday 2nd January
Please help by ensuring your bin is out by 7am. Extra rubbish caused by the suspension of the bin service before Christmas will be collected at your next normal collection.
Green Waste Recycling and Christmas Tree Collections
The last green bin recycling collection of 2009 was on 27 November and collections will begin again as normal after Valentine’s Day on February 15.
However there will be a special Christmas tree and green bin collection made between Monday 11 January and Friday 22 January. Please put out your real Christmas tree and your green bin on your normal recycling week on your normal day of collection. Clean brown corrugated cardboard can also go into your green bin.
Alternatively Christmas trees can be taken to one of the borough’s Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) with the exception of Orrell and put in the green waste skips or bays for composting.
Further information about Christmas arrangements and recycling, including any changes due to bad weather will be available on our website or by calling the helpline 01942 404364 on working days.
