Social inclusion means ensuring that there are no barriers preventing individuals from reaching their full potential.

Social inclusion is one of the five principles of the Wigan Borough Community Plan.

To work towards achieving social inclusion we need to understand how poverty and deprivation affects people in the borough. This is the fourth report of a series of "Poverty Profiles" investigating the geographical distribution of poverty and deprivation in the borough.
