18 is such a milestone in life and something we can all relate to when we think about our ambitions and aspirations for our loved ones and what kind of world we want them to be living in.
- What kind of Borough do local people want for the future?
- What kind of place will our children inherit on their 18th birthday?
- How will they be learning?
- What will Wigan Borough be famous for?
- How will our children be spending their free time?
These are just some of the questions we have been asking about the future of babies born in 2008.
We wanted to hear from local people about the kind of ideas they had for what kind of place they wanted to be in 2026. We publicised the work widely with opportunities to contribute in discussion sessions, workshops and online surveys .
We contacted hundreds of families who had new babies in 2008 who would turn 18 in 2026. We had a conversation with them about the kind of place they want Wigan to be in the future.
