  • CLSP - Community Legal Service Partnership
  • Community Empowerment Fund - funding used to ensure genuine and effective engagement in Local Strategic Partnerships by the voluntary and community sector
  • CPA - Comprehensive Performance Assessment (of council services)

  • GONW - Government Office North West - the office of central government (Manchester)
  • Government/National Floor Targets - specific targets set by Government Departments seeking minimum improvements in specific areas across England
  • IMD (Index of Multiple Deprivation) - System to measure poverty to enable a 'ranking' of deprived local areas
  • LA21 — Local Agenda 21, which says that social, economic and environmental issues are all connected - and need to be considered as a whole
  • Learning Chest — funding for training or learning to help develop partnership working
  • LEAS — Local Energy Advice Service
  • Liveability — the quality of the physical environment in which we live, work and play
  • Local Area Agreement— a special contract between a local area and central government - aims to tackle key issues locally in return for cash incentive
  • Local Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy — local plan to describe how we tackle areas of high need within the Borough
