What time are the meals delivered?
Hot meals are delivered between 11.15am and 1.30pm. We do try to deliver your meal at the same time on each occasion, but times can vary if there are severe weather conditions or traffic delays.
What do you do if you are going out?
If you don’t need your meals for whatever reason (doctors appointment, going out with relatives, etc), you need to contact the Community Meals Service as soon as possible. This will ensure that the food is not wasted and also help the staff who may have to spend time making sure that you are okay if there is no reply.
The meal has to be delivered to you, so please don’t ask the driver to leave the meal anywhere else.
How to access the service
Contact the Central Duty Team and ask for an assessment of your needs. The assessments helps us to decide whether or not you are eligible for the service and, if so, which is the most suitable for you. We use Department of Health guidance 'Fair Access to Care Services' to work out eligibility.
