Starting Point - Age Concern

This service is offered by Age Concern to the over 50's who live in Wigan.

Starting Point is a prevention service that anyone over the age of 50, who lives in Wigan can access via the telephone help line, or by fax or email. It was established in April 2005 and provides a service for people with low to moderate needs. Many services are accessible via Starting Point from help with benefits to having smoke alarms installed or  being put in touch with reputable tradespeople. We offer help with the following:

  • Liaison Officer
  • Handy Persons
  • Shopping
  • Luncheon Clubs
  • Befriending
  • Personal Care
  • Tradespeople

These are just a sample of the services that we can help with. If you need help with something which is not listed above, please do not hesitate to contact us. The aim of this service is to enable you to maintain your independence and make your own decisions. The helpline is free of charge, but  other charges depend upon the service which is being accessed.
