Leigh Healthy Heart Club cardiac support group was founded in September 1988 by members of the community who had suffered from heart problems.
The aim of the group is to provide support, help and guidance to people who suffer from heart disease, and also their relatives and carers.
Meetings of the group are usually attended by a guest speaker who gives a talk lasting about an hour. Afterwards there is normally the opportunity to ask questions and to talk to other members of the group who have undergone similar experiences.
Leigh Healthy Heart Club works closely with specialist cardiac nurses who attend many of the meetings.
