It manages some four hundred properties from tiny archaeological sites to imposing castles and historic houses.

The companions and carers of visitors with a disability are admitted free of charge to all English Heritage properties. Staff at these sites will not ask for any documentary proof of disability, however, any disabled visitor who would like a standard letter confirming that their companion should be admitted free of charge can be sent one, on request, by Customer Services.
