It maintains nationwide databases of accommodation specifically for older people - sheltered, retirement housing to buy and to rent, extra care schemes and close care housing (sheltered accommodation where there is a care home on site), and care homes, both for personal care and nursing. Free advice and guidance is available through the EAC's independent Advice Line. Staff there can help older people choose and fund the support or accommodation most suited to their needs and wishes.
