Al-Anon Family Groups provide support to anyone whose life is, or has been, affected by someone else’s drinking.
Al-Anon Family Groups believe alcoholism affects the whole family, not just the drinker. We are an international organisation with over 800 support groups in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Al-Anon Family Groups hold regular meetings where members share their own experience of living with alcoholism. Al-Anon does not offer advice or counseling, but members give each other understanding, strength and hope.
Call helpline or use website to find nearest venue, day and times.
There are no fees to join. Meetings usually have a collection to pay the rent for the meeting place, to provide Al-Anon literature and to support services, both local and throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. We contribute what we can afford.
If you call the helpline, you will be given the first name and phone number of one or two Al-Anon members who regularly attend the meeting you are interested in attending. These members will be able to explain what help Al-Anon can and can’t offer to newcomers.
