Playsafe Competition

The annual national Playsafe Competition attracts many entries every year and offers some great prizes for the young students who enter.  Playsafe is a fun competition run by Trading Standards in association with the British Toy and Hobby Association.
It is a challenge for youngsters in two age groups 6-11 and 12-17 years to design a toy that is right for children aged 3-7 years.

As well as putting their ideas on paper, the children have to back up the ideaas with notes that explain safety features, the play and development benefits, whether a toy is for outdoor or indoor use, and if it is suitable for children with special needs.!

The Regional Final was held in May in Manchester and all  pupils who submitted entries received a certificate.

The  Wigan Council entry from Atherton St Philip's Primary School are our proud winners of the 2011 regional final.

The top three entries from the Regional Final were displayed at the National Final, at the Trading Standards Institute Conference in Bournemouth in June.
